Welcome to "The Shack", affectionally named after our parents’ and grandparents’ summer getaway on the Massachusetts Bay. The Shack is a renovated 4 BR / 6 bed, lake access, deep water cove, with a covered boat slip, hot tub, and firepit situated on 1 acre quiet cul-de-sac. Fenced in yard for your pup!
Our family friendly home is located on the Public Side of Lake Anna with over 2,200 sq ft of living space spread out over two levels. 90 second walk to our cove the dedicated covered dock on Lake Anna.
The space
When you are at the lake you will find a deep water, no wake cove for swimming, floating, fishing, kayaking, or boating as you will have access to a dedicated covered boat slip. Cook a family dinner on the new grill, take a dip in the private hot tub, and relax on one of the eight Adirondack chairs circled around the firepit. NEW FIREPIT installed May 2025. Guests will enjoy outdoor games such as cornhole, bottle drop, ladder golf, and basketball on our private mini court, and numerous board games including a convertible chess/ checkers/ backgammon table.
Soak up the partial lake views from the newly added sunroom and sunporch. There is an open concept dining room and well-equipped kitchen, a cozy living room with a large sectional, a powder room with full size washer and dryer, and a kids’ playroom. The new custom-built staircase will lead you to the second floor where you will find four large, newly painted bedrooms, two full baths and brand new flooring throughout. The bedrooms consist of a king bed with an en-suite bathroom, a king bedroom with a small desk for remote working, a queen bedroom and the fourth bedroom is great for kids with its full over full bunk bed with a full trundle underneath. Sleeper sofa located on the main floor. The house has central a/c and heating and with ceiling fans in almost every room you will be cool and comfortable during your stay.
We provide one adult and one children's kayak, life vests, and paddles. The home is centrally located in Mineral just minutes from popular destinations such as The Cove, Lake Anna Taphouse, Asian Café, Food Lion, Lake Anna Winery, and the Boardwalk Mini Golf. Lake Anna State Park is minutes away and offers more than 15 miles of scenic hiking trails, picnic areas, life guarded lake swimming, playgrounds, and more! Public Beach Access is available at the State Park.
The Shack offers the best internet available on the lake with xFinity high speed internet and all six TV’s are smart tvs and ready for you to log on to your own Amazon/Netflix/Hulu/YouTube TV, etc. accounts for unlimited movie / tv access!
The hot tub is in a very private area of the property and can accommodate 6 persons. Hot tub is available for use year around! Cool off in the summer & warm up in the winter.
House Rules
• Quiet hours 10:00 PM - 7:00 AM
• No glass in the hot tub
• Please remove shoes when entering the house.
• No smoking or vaping is allowed inside the property.
• NO lifeguards are on duty. All activities on the property and at the lake are at your own risk, including the hot tub.
• Please keep the hot tub covered when not in use.
• We accept up to two well behaved dogs under 50 pounds with preapproval and payment of the non-refundable pet fee(s).
• NO pets on any furniture. You are responsible for cleaning up after your pets.
• Parking is allowed on the driveway only. Please do not park on the lawn, patio or walkway. If you need additional parking street parking is available.
• If you move furniture or items please return them to their original location before check out.
• Review and adhere to all check out instructions which are posted at the house and in the Welcome Book provided.
• We understand that accidents do happen and kindly request that you report any accidental breakages or damages before checking out.
• All visitors must adhere to the house rules.
• Any extra visitors above our occupancy limit of 10 must be approved in advance and will have to pay an extra fee as set out in our rates.
• All guests must be 25 or older unless accompanied by a parent.
• Onsite parties and events strictly prohibited.
We accept no more than two well behaved dogs up to 50 pounds with a non refundable pet deposit of $150. Please no dogs on the furniture.
Guest access
Guests will have access to the entire property with the exception of the shed and one locked owner's closet.
Other things to note
By booking our property you agree to follow all house rules. We reserve impose extra fees or cancel the reservation should these rules be broken.
Please note this property is Lake Access-you will need to take a short walk from the house down to the lake. The hill is fairly steep which means you will be walking back up the hill after the day on the lake. There is the option to drive and park at the boat slip. No lifeguard on duty. Swim and lake activities are at your own risk.
Bedrooms and showers are on the second floor.
