New100’ PRIVATE DOCK, KAYAKS & PADDLE BOARDS, UNLIMITED EXCELLENT Wi-Fi,SMART TV, FOOSBALL & PINGPONG, FIRE PIT & HAMMOCK. No need to sip with strangers, host your own private wine tasting on our expansive deck! This VERY FAMILY FRIENDLY lake home is the perfect retreat for families with children who have been cooped up more than usual due to recent events. The kids and dogs literally have acres of land to explore. There are trails, a stream, fresh berries grow in abundance on the property and of course fun in the sun at the lake. The deck is enclosed on one side and there is a latching gate on the other. Small children and dogs can safely be 100% contained while the adults enjoy local wines, a stunning view, sunbathing, relaxing with a good book or stargazing the night away.
In light of the recent pandemic, we realise that many potential renters have just added some fur babies to their families. We are updating out policy to allow dogs as we know that are a valued member of the family!
The main level hosts the master bedroom with a brand new queen bed. Upstairs in the loft a new king sized bed overlooks a stunning view of the lake. On the other side of the loft, a queen bed and set of bunks are the perfect set up for the kids while parents enjoy privacy in the master or on the lake view side of the loft. In addition, we have a queen pull out in the living room and another set of bunks in the basement. (Our teenagers LOVE the basement bunks, ping pong table and having their own full walk out access without having to venture upstairs).
Please note that the walk to the water is on a gravel road that has sections with steep pitch and may be difficult for persons not in optimal health for hiking. We currently have a renter approved parking space near the staircase leading to the lake, only 4 wheel drive vehicles down the hill to the lake please.
This lovely, Exclusive vacation home -nestled in a private 4 acre wooded compound, once an abundant fruit orchard on the breathtaking western shore of Seneca Lake, in the heart of the Finger Lakes Wine Country. Gorgeous, contemporary 3 bedroom (two are in an open loft, that is enclosed with glass to offer safety for children, that overlooks the rest of the house). This lake home provides
a relaxing, memorable view of Seneca Lake with its floor to ceiling windows, as well as access to the lake, a moderate walk from the house (walk is about the length of 2 football fields down a private gravel road). Where you will find the staircase leading to a boardwalk and 40 feet of your personal private shale beach. Sit and enjoy a glass of your favorite wine, fish, take a canoe, kayak or paddle board ride or just relax and enjoy the tranquil beauty of Seneca Lake. While visiting The Buttonwood House, be sure to explore the abundance of fine wineries, breweries, & cheese shops along the Seneca Lake Trail. All feature many special events designed to please our wonderful visitors. The Buttonwood is 10 minutes from Watkins Glen Village and 15 minutes from the renown Watkins Glen NASCAR track. A recent delight for our guests is viewing the many spectacular Waterfalls in our area and hiking the Glens and abundant trails. The Buttonwood is just 3 minutes from the Glenora Winery so many of our renters are wedding destination guests or family.
The Owner provides all Linens. Fully Equipped Kitchen includes dishwasher, coffee maker, dishes, cookware, and all the appliances needed for creative cooking should you desire. There are many great choices for dining out too. Tabora is a fantastic cafe just two miles up the road and The Harbour Hotel in Watkins Glen offers fine dining-amazing, views and plenty of atmosphere within 10 min. Drive. For your protection there are security cameras monitoring the road, parking area and exterior of the house. The owner has compiled a comprehensive folder of things to do and see, and it's at the house waiting for you. It's your vacation to enjoy and learn about our amazing Finger Lakes.
